WHAT IS A "PSY.D.?"
A Psy.D. stands for "Doctor of Psychology." It is similar to Ph.D in that I completed four years of graduate school focusing on clinical psychology, worked with clients for several years under supervision, and completed a dissertation and internship. A Psy.D. is different from a Ph.D. in that I generally spent more time focusing on face-to-face interactions with clients, intervention skills, and practice theory as opposed to research and publishing articles in scientific journals.
